An Irish Ad To End Anti-Gay Bullying: "Stand Up! - Don't Stand for Homophobic Bullying"

Wow. Watch this!

My thanks to Anne for the link - and to the people that put this together.

I had to fight back the tears as I watched it - it made me so happy.

Please share it.

Namaste,
Lee

A friend on Dreamwidth posted this video too and it really is cute. :)

Like I said on her post, realistically would it happen like that? Probably not.
But overall - it sends a good message.

This vid represents a big step. Life moves in little ones. But, the trajectory will be bending towards justice(as MLK said).

(I love how the bully was missing a tooth. Made you want to hate him before he even said anything.)

Oh, I need the Kleenex now. How lucky our teens are that this is even out there (and unlucky that it's still needed) - but it's hopeful, so hopeful.

Did you see 'Sinead's Hand'? The terrific Irish ad in support of legalising gay marriage from a few years ago? I loved it just as much as this one. (apologies if you'veaready linked to this)

Maybe I've got it all wrong, but I think this PSA is dreadful. (I'm from NYC; perhaps our brains works differently.) This PSA is SO fantasy-based that I can't see any kids (except the ones acting in it) not laughing uproariously. So we have the two boys (one looking sensitive; the other not -- i.e., masculine appearing), the artsy femme boy in the black and white garb, a bunch of stupid-looking bullies and a lot of girls who gossip and one who's fat.

And some butch guy says he will hold hands w/the sensitive guy and this inspires all these same-sex couples to hold hands, including one of the thug boys who chooses to be-hand the femme guy, whom nobody ostracizes at all.

And this is going to impact thug boys how?

You know, just because something is queer does not make it good. This is a fact of life everyone needs to think about. Gay drek is still drek. Have a nice day.
