Whoo-hoo!

I’m so excited that Publishers Weekly just announced my next picture book, LOVE OF THE HALF-EATEN PEACH!

Here’s the text of the announcement, from the March 8, 2023 edition of PW’s Children’s Bookshelf:

Wiley Blevins at Reycraft Books has bought worldwide rights for the picture book Love of the Half-Eaten Peach by Lee Wind (l.), illustrated by Jieting Chen, an epic take on Yuan (Duke Ling of Wei) and his beloved Mi Zi Xia who shared a peach circa 500 BCE, inspiring generations of people to use the expression “Love of the Half-Eaten Peach” in Chinese to describe romantic love between men. Publication is scheduled for spring 2024; Marietta Zacker at Gallt & Zacker Literary Agency represented the author, and Alex Gehringer at the Bright Agency represented the illustrator.

I’m so excited about the book’s illustrator, Jieting! Check out some of her amazing art here.

I’ll be sharing more about this one as we move forward to publication, but for now, I’m just so grateful that this story that would have totally changed my life if I had read it as a little kid is coming together with such grace, respect, and beauty. Gratitude to Wiley and the team at Reycraft Books, and as always to my agent Marietta! And to my husband Mark, who made me believe in happily ever after in the first place.

My thanks also to you, my community, for sharing this journey and cheering me — and these empowering stories — on!

The light in me recognizes and acknowledges the light in you,
Lee
